Deaf Queer / Trans Activist to Keynote LGBTQIA College Conference

drago2.jpgOur very own Dragonsani Renteria (“Drago”) is scheduled to keynote the 2007 Western Regional Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Questioning, Intersex Alliance (LGBTQIA) College Conference, which takes place from February 16-18, 2007 at the University of California at Riverside. Hundreds of students, faculty and staff from colleges and universities across the country are expected to attend.

Drago’s keynote is scheduled for Saturday, February 17 from 1 to 2 PM at the University Theatre at UC Riverside. This is the first time a Deaf person has been invited to keynote this conference.

If you’re planning to attend, be sure to fax in your registration no later than February 13.

  1. I saw drago give keynote at last Rad conf. He was awesome. I enjoy it very much. I’m sure he will wow socks off hearies at this conf.

  2. I saw Drago’s keynote speech at Portland Pride a few years ago. He is a very dynamic speaker and sense of humor, too! I heard he gives very good workshops but I have not seen it yet. Hope someday!

  3. good to hear that Drago is still a leader for deaf and hearing GLBTA community around USA.
    will be thinking of him during this weekend because i will be in Alphabet Soup 2007: Midwest GLBTA College conference here in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I will co-present a workshop about deaf in GLBTA community.

  4. I had the opportunity to attend the keynote and was blown away.  Thank you Dragonsani for opening my and other’s eyes to deaf queer and accessibility issues.  You really woke us up.  I also really enjoyed your humor. Thank you so much from coming to UC Riverside.
