A capital murder trial underway in Sioux Falls is getting national attention. If you watched World News Tonight, you saw how they posed the question if a deaf women should get the death penalty. 43 year old Daphne Wright is accused of kidnapping, killing and dismembering Darlene Vandergiesen in February of last year. If she’s convicted, she would be the first woman executed in South Dakota. Her attorneys have argued to strike the death penalty because she’s at a disadvantage, but prosecutors say we don’t have different rules for different people.
