Openly deaf gay model Martin Ritchie, who grew up in Austin, Texas, is one of the new models joining the cast of The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. The reality show airs on Tuesday nights on the Oxygen channel. Don’t miss the new season premiere on August 26!

As a gay visual artist and performing artist with hearing loss, I am proud of this gorgeous gay dude. He’s definitely beautiful and sexy. I believe in being able to prove the world that anyone with hearing loss can do it. I applaud him and shall say “Good luck!” to him.

I’m so happy for Marty Ritchie. My family and his family socialized at deaf functions. I knew him since he was a toddler. He was quite hyperactive kid but he meant very well.
I also posted an entry of Marty Ritchie WAAAAAAAY before this DQRC did. Once again, RidorLIVE.com has done it again!

Van Nuys, what is your problem? I keep in touch with Marty’s sister over the years. It is true that when Marty’s father moved to Indianapolis, my contacts with Marty vanished.
But Elise and I still keep in touch since we went to Gallaudet. My parents still keep in touch with Marty’s father in Indianapolis.
Martin lived in Austin, Texas with his mother and stepfather — from waht I understand, they booted him out. And he left Austin for Los Angeles.
As for him doing porn, that’s OK with me. I’m all for Marty to succeed. In fact, I wanted to interview him for my blogsite.

Very interesting. So he’s from a deaf family. His parents and sister are all deaf. I wonder how his family feel about his career as a for-hire amateur porn star. Some of the porn video work he’s done is as recent as four months ago. I wonder if starring in porn videos is something he will continue.
I’m also curious how much he got paid for the Cruiser Boys porn videos. I know he’s done others but those are my favorite ones. I bet sales for those videos will skyrocket now. Martin made his formal statement last week and explaining that he has done the porn in the past, 3 years ago because he has had no choice after being homeless. **that was not FOUR months ago** outrageous. and he looks masculine, OLDER, and has some muscle mass now, not the same as he was in the past of doing few porn. from what i heard, he tried to earn the money to live in a place after living in the shelter. it sounds very sad and stuggle for him. lets just move on and support him for what he is doing right now and that hes doing wonderful! i am proud of him!

To the person who said that Martin is a role model…. I’m sorry but I disagree strongly. I’m an educator and was excited when I read here about Martin Ritchie. We DO need more role models in deaf-gay community. But anyone that has done pornography automatically disqualifies as a role model. It says to me that person has very poor judgment and very poor moral standards. I would not encourage kids to be like that person. So no, Martin Ritchie is not a role model. Sadly, his past mistakes will haunt him for the rest of his life. We must live with the choices we make.

Susan: role model is all about one’s interpretation, really. i dont view him as a role model. for god’s sake, he’s practically a child to me — but i only wish him the best for himself. it looks like he wants to do whatever is on his table, i’m all for it.

No this is truly story. he refused to go back to his family for the help. and his sister was in the college. he was just living in los angeles with no one that he know when he moved there. he was very stubborn and knew that he has to stay in los angeles. there is a proof that he lived in the gay and lesbian center. you could even contact them. he told us many stories about being homeless, even before the past porn came to the surface. i promise you guys, he was actually homeless. very sad story but it was years ago and now i am proud of him. god bless his heart.
